River Meter - Privacy Policy
RIVER METER POLICY - Effective March 27, 2009
This Privacy Policy applies to http://www.rivermeter.com and all
websites and URL’s controlled or operated by River Meter - RVPM Designs which link to this policy, unless otherwise specified. To report any
abuse or violations of this Privacy Policy, please email rivermeter AT rivermeter DOT com.
If an email was sent to you in error or without your permission, please
attached an unedited copy and include all header information so that River Meter - RVPM Designs can trace the origin of the message. Also include any
notes or other information that you believe are pertinent.
Information Collection
Minor’s Privacy
Our website is not targeted towards, or intended for use by anyone
under the age of 18. By using RiverMeter.com you represent and
warrant that you are 18 years of age or older, or are using the site
under supervision of a parent or guardian. We reserve the right to
terminate your membership in the event that we become aware you are
under 18 and without appropriate supervision. Persons under 18 may not
submit any personally identifiable information to us, and if we
discover that we have inadvertently gathered such information, we will
take the appropriate steps to delete it.
Registration and Service Provider Enrollment
In order to subscribe to our service or sign up for a free trial of our
product, or to enroll as a prospective service provider, a user must
first complete a registration form. During registration a user is
required to give contact information (such as name and email address).
Required fields are denoted with an asterisk (*). We use this
information to contact the user about products and services on our site
for which they have expressed interest, to inform service providers of
leads, and inform customers about potentially retainable service
providers. Subscribers to our service will be asked to provide
additional personal information, such as their address, telephone
number, credit card information, and specific information about their business. By providing this information to us, you expressly consent to
being contacted by us and by our service professionals and providers
via phone, fax, email, mail or other reasonable means, at any of your
contact numbers or addresses, in order that we may provide the products
and services set forth on our web site, service your account,
reasonably address matters pertaining to your account or for other
reasonable purposes related to our business. Unique identifiers (such
as username and password) are required. It is optional for the user to
provide demographic information (such as income level and gender) but
encouraged so we can provide a more personalized experience on our web
site.
Email List & Newsletter.
For each visitor that signs up for our email list or newsletter, or
makes a submission, or requests any other
information, we collect only the information that is requested on the
list signup form, such as name and email address. Required fields are
denoted with an asterisk (*). Our newsletter provides an unsubscribe
link with each broadcast. We will never sell your name to a third party
under any circumstances.
General site use information
As
with all websites, certain types of general information about your use
is collected by our server, including but not limited to the number of
times you have visited the web site, your IP address, cookies, and
pages you viewed.
Use of Information Collected
We use the information you provide about yourself only to assist you in
using our products and services, including those of service providers
in our network if you submit a service request. Otherwise, we do not
share this information with outside parties. When you submit
information to River Meter - RVPM Designs, you authorize us to share this
information with our network of service providers in order to try to
provide the services you request. For example, when a registered user
submits a service request, we will share information about that user
with the appropriate service provider who will contact the user in
order to fulfill the user''s request. We use return email addresses to
answer the email we receive. Such addresses are not used for any other
purpose and are not shared with outside parties. We use non-identifying
and aggregate information to better design the web site and to share
with advertisers. For example, we may tell an advertiser that a certain
number of individuals visited a certain area on the web site or that a
certain number of own own a particular type of web site,
but we would not disclose anything that could be used to identify those
specific individuals. We may allow third party advertisers to display
targeted advertising information to users of the web site. We will not
sell or give your personally identifiable information to such
advertisers.
Like any website, we may legally be required to
disclose personally identifiable information about you in special
circumstances, for instance in response to legal actions, subpoenas,
court orders, or to establish or exercise our legal rights or defend
against legal claims.
The information we collect may be used
to create an aggregate demographic profile of our user base and those
of the River Meter - RVPM Designs email list management service so that we
can improve content and services and provide aggregate information to
customize the content and/or layout of our email messages or pages for
each individual visitor, to notify you about updates to our web site
and services, to send you our opt-in e-mail newsletter, to provide you
with the products and/or services for which you signed up or
registered, which may include sending service disruption notices or
other service- or product-related information via email, and is not
shared with other organizations for commercial purposes without your
consent. We may share collected information with another company in the
event that we merge with or are acquired by another company. Upon
request, we will provide you with the information (e.g., email address,
name, etc.) that we maintain about you. Finally, we never use or share
the personally identifiable information provided to us online in ways
unrelated to the ones described above without also providing you an
opportunity to opt-out or otherwise prohibit such unrelated uses.
Communications from River Meter - RVPM Designs and its Service Providers
We send all new members a welcoming email to verify password and
username. As part of the River Meter - RVPM Designs subscription, members will
receive maintenance reminder notices from time to time. Members will
occasionally receive information on products, services, special deals,
and a newsletter. Out of respect for the privacy of our users we
present the option to not receive these types of communications. If you
subscribed to our e-mail newsletter but do not want to receive it in
the future, please follow the unsubscribe instructions contained in
the newsletter.
Cookies
We, and some of our
partners who provide some of the services and products on our site, may
use cookies to record session information, record user-specific
information on what pages users access or visit, record past activity
at a site in order to provide better service when you return to our
site, and customize web page or email message content based on your
browser type or other information.
Protection of Information
We use personal information about you only in order to provide you with
the best service possible. We restrict access to information about you

order to deliver service to you. Perfect security does not exist on

we may occasionally include links from messages sent to the email list
to other companies’ web sites, please refer to the privacy policies of
those sites for information on how they handle security for information

Changes to Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to change our information, features, services,
products, policies, promotions, disclosures and disclaimers at any
time. Changes to this Policy will be in writing and be posted on our
web site as applicable. Please check these terms periodically for
changes. At the top of the policy we indicate the date of an update.
The continued use of any River Meter - RVPM Designs products or services or of
our web site following the posting of changes to these terms will mean
you accept those changes.
