You can sample some of the available formats that you can embed into your web site after you buy the River Meter service. Once subscribed we will email you step-by-step instructions on implementing each of the feeds. You can choose to use any or all of the formats and even change the polling USGS sites after you subscribe. The station name can be optionally suppressed as well as adjustments to formatting.

Format #1 - Static Include Page Text
This is the simplest to implement. You can choose what to display including the site name and USGS number

Note: The bold text above would be on your site. It can be configured to just display the river gauge number in feet or include readable site information and your comments . For the demonstration this station's level is polled every night starting at 3:00 am from the USGS system . To get automated readings on your web site you must subscribe. Format #2 - HTML Marquee River conditions from the pros at River Meter - Red River of The North at Fargo, ND as of 3:00 am Conditions: 15.24 feet - Unreadable- | Your optional comments go here ... as well as Auto Comments based on the river gauge height. Readings are updated aproximately every 30 minutes from the USGS monitoring stations - We strongly suggest a disclaimer that notes that measurements are not always accurate due to river debris so be safe use good judgement. Notes: This is the simplest scroller to implement. You can choose what to display including overriding the site name and USGS number. Text can be hyperlinked.

Notes: This flash scroller requires your viewers have the Adobe Flash Player Plugin installed in their web browser, otherwise they will be prompted to install it. Using a River Meter Flash scroller give you more control and allows for a smoother scrolling experience. You can choose the scroller size, background color and font. Format #4 - RSS / ATOM Feed
EXAMPLE:
River Meter has RSS 2.0 and ATOM compliant RSS Feeds for all monitored USGS River and waterway monitored sites where there is valid data. RSS feeds are specially formatted files that talk when updated to RSS Readers for display on your computer. Click on the image to the right to see this site's RSS /ATOM Feed.

For the time being or until user loads exceed our bandwidth you can freely link to our site's demonstration feeds for testing and personal use but for commercial use, and to get rid of the embedded link to our company's buy now page you must subscribe.

To get the RSS feed on your computer you must have installed an RSS Reader add-on or plugin. There are many free RSS readers available for download.
